We helped a world-class ski resort deliver world-class scheduling, ensuring their instructors spent more time on the slopes.
Alta Ski Resort in Utah has it all and is a famed destination for skiers. Their instructors are world-class, and want to be on the slopes, with the people that matter most, doing what they love. But, they had a big problem. Their lesson scheduler was operated and maintained manually. Whiteboards and spreadsheets held the data, and often, the resort was not optimizing how to best deploy its talented instructors to meet the demands of a busy ski resort.
Human problem solved
We mapped all the parameters, built a new logic-based matrix, and applied a simple and intuitive instructor availability interface. The solution moved Alta off of manual tracking and helped them optimize how they deployed their talented instructors.
The availability data was then mapped to the front-end scheduler for public use. This allowed Alta to maximize how many of their guests could take ski lessons. Alta got their best people - their instructors - on the slopes with their favorite people - their guests - a lot more often.
